Fall Protection for MEWPs Training
(2 hours)
Our Fall Protection for mobile elevating work platforms (MEWPs) course can be added to the MEWP’s Training and includes the following:
Classroom session topics
- Workplace Safety & Health Regulations
- CSA Standards
- Risk Evaluation
- Rescue Plan
- Harness Inspection
- Safe Work Procedures
- Written Test
Practical session
- How to don a Safety Harness properly
- Review and conduct a Safety Harness
inspection

MEWP Operator Training
Operator Safety course on the different types and groups available.
Classroom session topics
- Manitoba Regulations
- New CSA Standard B354.7:17 & B354.8.17
- New types and groups
- Components of MEWP’s
- Safety equipment
- Battery power
- Operating controls
- Data plates, decals and required manuals
- Proper handling of fuels
- How to handle emergencies
- Fundemantals of MEWP’s operation
- Site inspection
- Written test
Practical session
- Review and conduct an “Operator’s Daily Pre-Shift Inspection” checklist
- Driving evaluation based on good and safe operating techniques
- Driving evaluations will be conducted on the equipment the operators will be using for regular duties
Note
Fall Protective Equipment is needed while operating this type of equipment. If your employee’s haven’t been trained in Fall Protection for MEWP’s course, it can be added as part of the agenda
